From zero to IMPACT in 6 months


Creating a strategic and viral Facebook page was essential for the Canadian Health Food Association. They were hosting their largest exposition and were missing opportunities to communicate with their participants as well as with the a contingent of people who support their stand on Natural Health Products in Canada.

See how we built two Facebook pages and provided the tools to CHFA so that they could use Facebook as a means of communication. This case study includes creative samples of the Facebook Fan pages.

CHALLENGE

There are a number of organizations that promote natural health products in Canada. There are a number of organizations that oppose natural health products. There are many opinions and multiple websites that address the needs of the health product industry in this country. On the forefront of the issue is the Canadian Health Food Association. They provide information and opportunities for co-operation to their large constituency. When they became aware of the power of Facebook to increase their effective communication, they jumped at the opportunity to speak to supporters of natural health products.

CAMPAIGN
The team at CHFA hired Stir to develop a Facebook presence. We recommended two Facebook Fan Pages - one for the corporate group and one for the cause, Save Our Natural Health Products. These fan pages were carefully named and links were set to them from all of CHFA's websites.

Stir integrated Twitter accounts with the Facebook Fan Pages and provided training for the CHFA team to use these new methods of communication effectively. Stir ensured that syndication was set up effectively to save time for the CHFA communications team.

RESULTS
The Facebook Fan Pages integrated with the Twitter accounts has been a significant change that has made CHFA and Save Our Natural Health Products accessible to the people who are familiar and comfortable with social networks.

Number of fans went from zero to 1946 fans within six months as the CHFA team continues to tweet and communicate regularly with their fans and followers.
